Reasons to come sailing and join Avon Sailing Club
-
We're a Sailing Club - we cater for sailors of all abilities and boats. We race, we cruise, we teach, we have fun and enjoy ourselves.
-
We're a Friendly Club - we're small, we don't take our racing too seriously, we're family orientated.
We do lots of bring and share social events. We do family weekends during the summer. We have members from all walks of life: what we share is an enjoyment of the outdoors and sailing.
-
You can sail for miles - the river may be narrow compared with a lake, but you can go out for the afternoon and sail for miles.
-
We won't break the bank - You'll pay more to go out for a good family meal. The clubhouse, facilities and club boats are all paid for.
How to Join
Come and see us, we're here most Sundays. Like everyone else, most of our members like the sun, warmth and a nice wind: so come down on a nice day.
If you have young children, look at our event calendar and come down during one of our family weekends.
Complete the membership form, and email it to the Commodore or post it to the Membership Secretary. That's it, you're a provisional member.
Once you've joined, you will need to make yourself known to at least one of the committee members so they can vouch for your good character at the next committee meeting.
Once you're a confirmed member, our Membership Secretary will send you the information you need. See Barry or the Commodore about a key for the clubhouse.
